������ sophomore fashion design and business student Madeline Mehler launched a business that creates a more sustainable, lower carbon-footprint approach to making clothes.

������’s School of Fashion Design and Merchandising has once again been named among the nation’s elite, according to new rankings from . For Fashion Merchandising, the school has been rated #3 Nationally (top 2 percent of schools considered), #3 Nationally among public schools and colleges (top 4 percent of schools considered), and #1 in the Midwest.

������ graduate continues to break new ground in the understanding of cognition—and his research may help us move beyond the limits of the brain’s working memory.

Instead of heading home to relax following the conclusion of finals week, a group of ������ student-athletes traveled to Aguacate, Belize, to partner with on a service project from May 16-24. A total of 19 student-athletes volunteered to make the trip and were accompanied by five staff members as they aided community members in the construction of a multipurpose sports court located next to the local school.

The Burr Magazine, ������’s general interest student magazine, was named the best student magazine in the nation by the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). ������ also earned national finalist status in two categories in SPJ’s annual national Mark of Excellence Awards competition. In each category, SPJ chooses one winner and up to two national finalists from student journalists’ submissions from across the United States.

The ������ women’s golf team finished tied for fifth at the 2017 NCAA National Championship, falling Tuesday, May 23, in the quarterfinals match play round to top seeded Northwestern, 3-2. The ������ Golden Flashes completed its best run at the NCAA National Championship, beating its previous best finish of 15th place. ������ also became the first program to ever advance to match play of the women’s golf championship from outside of the “Power 5” conferences.

Educator, pioneering scientist and visionary Owen Lovejoy receives the highest ������ honor.  

For the second straight year, the ������ baseball team has been crowned the outright Mid-American Conference (MAC) regular season champions, a feat now accomplished 14 times in program history. The ������ Golden Flashes clinched the title and the No. 1 seed at the MAC Tournament, but the 5-2 win at Ohio University on May 20 secured the outright championship. After taking the first two games of the series, the OU Bobcats got a one-run lead in the second inning when a hit batter came around to score on a sacrifice bunt.

The new ARTshop serves as an entrepreneurial laboratory for School of Art students to display and to learn about promoting their artwork.

The No. 12 ������ men’s golf team has booked its ticket to the 2017 NCAA National Championship with a second-place finish at the Washington Regional at 3-over par 855 (287-282-286).
