A Message from ÂÜÀòÉç Tuscarawas Interim Athletic Director Dakota Wright
Dear Campus and Community Members:
The 2025–26 academic year was one of the most successful in ÂÜÀòÉç Tuscarawas Athletics history. Our student athletes excelled in competition and in the classroom, earning national recognition while setting new program records across nearly every sport.
Student-Athlete of the Year
Brenton Billman was named ÂÜÀòÉç Tuscarawas Student-Athlete of the Year. This is considered the highest award given to an athlete by a member USCAA school. As a pitcher, Billman helped lead the baseball team to a 24–18 record, the best season in program history. He appeared in 18 games, posting a 3-3 record with three saves in 44 innings. Among his season highlights were a five-inning, season-high eight-strikeout performance to earn a 3-0 win against Bryant & Stratton Syracuse on Oct. 4 and earning a saves in a 6-5 win over Penn State Fayette March 8, a 8-5 win over Lorain County Community College April 2 and a 6-3 victory over Bryant & Stratton April 18. He also pitched a five-inning outing in a 17-8 win over Franciscan on April 9.
Billman is from New Philadelphia and graduated this spring with an Associate of Applied Science degree in mechanical engineering technology.

Record-Breaking Team Success
- Women’s volleyball finished as USCAA national runner-up;
- Baseball posted a 24–18 record, the best in school history;
- Softball recorded 11 wins, the most in program history;
- Men’s golf placed 4th nationally, the highest finish in school history;
- Leah Wright finished 5th nationally in women’s golf;
- Men’s and women’s basketball each finished 8th in the nation;
- Bowling showed tremendous improvement and competed at a high level throughout the season.
In addition to their success in competition and the classroom, we proudly celebrated 19 student-athletes who earned their associate or bachelor’s degrees this spring after competing for at least one season at ÂÜÀòÉç Tuscarawas. Their achievements reflect the true mission of collegiate athletics: developing leaders who succeed both academically and athletically.

With some of the largest and most talented recruiting classes in program history arriving next year, ÂÜÀòÉç Tuscarawas Athletics is well positioned to continue its momentum and compete for national championships.
The 2025–26 season showcased the hard work, dedication, and excellence of our student athletes, coaches, and supporters.
I sincerely thank everyone who supported ÂÜÀòÉç Tuscarawas Athletics throughout this incredible year, including our faculty, staff, advisors, coaches and administration. A special thank you goes to Dean Brad Bielski and Wren Howard for their leadership and unwavering support of our student-athletes and athletic programs.
