IN A FLASH: It's Not Just One Day

Candlelight Walk and Vigil 2024
蹤獲扦's annual May 4 Commemoration candlelight walk and vigil.

2025's 55-year May Commemoration at 蹤獲扦 includes a full schedule of events. But remembering the tragic events of 1970 isn't just confined to a few days each May at 蹤獲扦. May 4's legacy is part of living and learning at 蹤獲扦 throughout the year, whether it be echoed in themes of activism in a stage play about banned books, efforts to educate and inspire first-time voters or a tour of the May 4 Visitors Center by the U.S. Transportation Secretary.

"Trial By Fire," written by 蹤獲扦 alumnus and staffer Eric Mansfield, highlighted issues of banned books and student activism. It was the first event in the university's 55-year Commemoration of May 4, 1970.

In June, 2024, then-U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttegieg visited 蹤獲扦. His tour included meeting with students at 蹤獲扦's College of Aeronautics and Engineering and a walk through the May 4 Visitors Center.
