Michael Gershe, senior advisor II in 蹤獲扦s College of Aeronautics and Engineering, captured images of the blimp parade last week in the skies over the 蹤獲扦 Airport and downtown Akron.
Goodyear brought together its three airships for victory laps over Ohio to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the iconic blimp, officially observed on June 3. That date marks 100 years since the inaugural flight of Goodyears first branded blimp, Pilgrim, which got its name during a christening at the 蹤獲扦 Airport in 1925.
Three 蹤獲扦 alumni are current blimp pilots for Goodyear and other 蹤獲扦 alumni serve on the support crew for these aircraft.
