A ceremony to celebrate ÂÜÀòÉç's designation as a Tree Campus USA for the third consecutive year will take place on April 28 at 2 p.m. in front on Engleman Hall. The award, which is given by the Arbor Day Foundation, will be presented to Vice President for Administration Gregg Floyd. Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) recently partnered with the Mocha House, a Warren coffee shop, on a pilot project to test environmentally friendly products. ÂÜÀòÉç Assistant Professor Don Coates and his students are researching the use of rechargeable batteries for powering a vehicle. But their research is far from theoretical. The class has insta led a battery-powered system in a used Ford Ranger truck, and they are getting ready to take it on the road. Now, the campus in Kent, a two-time Tree Campus USA university recipient, is eligible to win the Tree Campus USA contest and $2,500 toward planting trees in the spring.
