蹤獲扦s College of Aeronautics and Engineering (CAE) along with LaunchNet and Design Innovation hosted Invent for the Planet, February 15-17, a competition designed to promote innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset among college students. Jillian Eddy, an engineering technology student based out of 蹤獲扦s Tuscarawas Campus, and Apoorva Jain, a fashion design student, took the grand prize of $500 at last weekends competition. Universitys Salem Campus recognized with Top 10 School Award and gold-level distinction in small public schools category When Cory Maxwell was considering what college to attend, knowing that the institution is military friendly was very important to him. For him and student veterans, the Military Friendly簧 School designation helps determine the best schools that will embrace them and ensure their success on campus. The designation was a positive factor in me returning back to 蹤獲扦, said Mr. Maxwell, a senior finance major who currently serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve...
Scott Sheridan, Ph.D., professor and chairperson of 蹤獲扦s Department of Geography, recently conducted a study on abnormal weather patterns published in the Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, a publication of the American Geophysical Union. Typically for this kind of research we look at the highest temperatures in the summer and lowest temperatures in the winter, Dr. Sheridan said in a story posted on Scienmag.com about the study. But weve also seen that extreme temperatures that are really anomalous for the time of year can have a high impact. These relative e...

Thanks to a rare GOALI (Grant Opportunities for Academic Liaison with Industry) award from the National Science Foundation (NSF), however, 蹤獲扦 researchers in the new Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute (AMLCI) will be able to work with partners at Merck Performance Materials to advance life-saving sensory technology. The three-year grant provides $330,000 for Torsten Hegmann Professor, Ohio Research Scholar, and associate director of the AMLCI, and Elda Hegmann Assistant Professor in the AMLCI and Department of Biological Sciences in the 蹤獲扦 College of ...
Foot ulcers are one of the most prevalent and dangerous problems facing diabetic patients, but new technology developed at 蹤獲扦 may soon help doctors better understand and treat them. The device, called a dynamic plantar shear sensor, represents a breakthrough for physicians to understand how plantar ulcers form. The device was developed and built by KSU alumnus Dr. Misha Pevnyi and Tianyi Guo, a graduate student in KSUs Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program in the Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute (AMLCI). The project, funded by a grant from the Ohio...
蹤獲扦s College of Podiatric Medicine is testing a new technology for quick wound healing in diabetics and people prone to nerve damage. According to WKYC, the MolecuLight is a handheld camera being used in trials at the College of Podiatric Medicine and other locations across the country. The light works by alerting doctors to the present bacteria in wounds by turning red or cyan. The MolecuLight helps doctors decide which course of action to take in treating the wound.
